ReadathonbyZoe – Halloween Edition

Last month I stumbled across Readbyzoe on youtube and really enjoyed her readathon videos. In these videos Zoe vlogs her experience of a 24-hour readathon noting the book she has read and the coffee and snacks she managed to get through.

The rules – read as much as you can in a 24 hour period – it doesn’t mean you have to stay up, or not go out or anything, but try to read as much as possible during the day. Obviously, this works better if it’s on a day when you don’t have to do much – you’ll get far more read – but it looked like a fun way to immerse yourself within book world and really dedicate a day to a hobby that we all love so much.

I watched Zoe’s videos, and some other booktubers, and found the readathon really fun and interesting. So I had a personal readathon of my own to get me back out of my reading slump. Now, I’m eager to participate with everyone else.

Readbyzoe will not only vlog her experience, but live updates will be on twitter, and others will be joining in with her around the world. I will be one of them! I will be live tweeting on the 14th October about the spooky books that I am reading and some thoughts on these and will write a round-up feature once the blog is over. I know some people also do reading sprints, like small twitter based competitions to see how much you can read in that time, as well as some other challenges, so it sounds like a fun way to enjoy reading even more!

If you’re interested in finding out more about the readathonbyzoe Halloween edition, then you can watch her video here.

I hope you all join in!

The 24-hour readathon will begin at 12am in your timezone until the 11:59pm on the 14th October 2017
